Aurora
This aurora happened on April 6th 2000 and was the result of a solar outburst about two days prior.
These superb pictures were taken in the Newchapel and Alsager areas by the director of the observatory.

Solar Eclipse
The solar eclipse August 11th 1999 attracted a record gathering at the observatory
and was broadcast live on radio Stoke.
