| The Castle stands on top of the hill at Mow Cop, on the Cheshire/ Staffordshire border. It is believed to have been built for Joseph Wilbraham of Rode Hall in 1746, by local stone-masons John and Ralph Harding as a summerhouse for entertaining guests. | |||||||||||||
